Biography

We're a SMALL Philly-based hip-hop label with BIG ideas about music, art, and clothing! Every season we're going to release 2-4 new t-shirt designs referencing classic hip-hop culture, funk, jazz, soul, and all eras of art + design.

NEED NOT WORRY — the SCORPIO — is a wordsmith hailing from Pawtucket, RI. This rhymer has been performing in the Providence scene since 'Round Midnight at the OLD Black Rep on Washington Street. He illustrates the classic characteristics of a great emcee; incredible LIVE performance, impeccable delivery, concrete content, and an outstanding storytelling ability. Attempting to deliver a hearty message to the mass amount of malnourished hip hop following, Need Not uses simple scimitar-esque slashings over gritty soundscapes provided by a SELECT choice of beatmakers. His LIVE show is quite the experience, ask his fans...Need Not rocks shows with a crown; tossing candy, condoms, and other assorted goodies out into the crowd of supporters. His true school approach is testament to his deep rooted love for the genre, never illustrating to (fix) or (compromise) a golden era sound that was never broken in the first place. MVP — the LIBRA — At the handsome age of 13, Mike received his first drum-kit—the TAMA classic rock set—given to him by his father whom is a major influence on getting started. 10 years later, his broad styles include both numerous and various influences ranging anywhere from the funky grooves of hip-hop to the most complex polyrhythmic metal ever shredded on 2 kick drum pedals.

LL!NGO APT — the PISCES — comes with that smooth **** flow, and those super, raw, meaty 1200/EMAX beats. When he's not studying to expose the truth to the kids in high school, he's watching a kung-fu flick figuring out how to knock you off your grandma's rocker. Make way for that SP sound kid....

KSir.Raw— the VIRGO — is that kid from SANDY YAYGO on some old SP1200 CALI-FORNICATION type 'ish. He's got more kicks than Justin' Timberlake and more beats than a heart on meth-amphetamines. Keep an eye out for this fellow on the next Formulatin' Fathers LP.

JAE ONE — the AIRES — hails from Corona, CA. He's aggressively destroying cats this year with his beats, rhymes, and cuts. Not only does he love rockin' his SP1200 at the crib, but he stays on the grind, making beats while doing an olly or kick flip off your forehead. And he doesn't do free beats for e-emcees, so don't ask! Check him on his upcoming solo project + the Formulatin' Fathers follow-up.

DRUMAT!C — the VIRGO — is the Philadelphia native and 1995 graduate of the HighSchool for Creative and Performing Arts (C.A.P.A.), packaged as the mighty beat maker, the meticulous, groovy graphic artist, and the easy-on-the-cut DJ for KicDrumProducts.
